1985-1989: Mosaics at the Katholikon of the Holy Church of Saint Irene Chrissovalantou in Athens (2.000 m2).
1989: Iconography and mosaic works begin on the Holy Monument of the Deposition of Christ at the Sacred Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem, Israel (UNESCO monument).
1990: Iconography on the dome of the Patriarchal Church dedicated to the Presentation of Jesus at the Temple, in Amman, Jordan.
1991: Iconography works begin at the Katholikon of the Saint Charalampos Church in Meteora (UNESCO monument).
1992: Iconography at the Katholikon of the Holy Trinity Church at Meteora (UNESCO monument).
1994: Iconography of Saint Paraskevi Church in Metsovo, Greece (UNESCO monument).
1997: Iconography and mosaics at the Holy Church of Santa Lidia, in Philippoi, Kavala (Greece).
1999: Two compositions of mosaics are completed for the Athens Town Hall.
2000: Exposition of the artist’s works at the Cathedral of Stutgard in Germany.
2001: Eight iconographic compositions on the life of Christ at the Holy Church of Saint Demetrios in Zurich, Switzerland.
2002: Completion of a mosaic ensemble on the four Evangelists and the Pantokrator at the Sacred Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem, Israel (UNESCO monument).
2003: A mosaic composition measuring 35m2 is placed at the pedestal of Paul the Apostle at the town of Kavala, Macedonia (Greece), entitled “The arrival of Paul the Apostle at the city of Neapoli Philippon”.
2004: The Church of Greece is represented at the Cultural Olympiad during the Athens 2004 Olympic Games via his work entitled “Virgin Mary, Our Lady of the Sign and Peace of the World”
2005: A number of works is produced for the Museum of the Holy Monastery of the Great Meteoron in Meteora, Greece (UNESCO monument).
2005-2007: Iconography at the Holy Church of Virgin Mary of the Patriarchate of Antioch, in Livonia, Michigan (USA).
2007: Iconography of the Holy Temple of Saint George in Chalandri, Athens (Greece).
2008: Three (3) frescoes for the Cathedral of Modena, Italy (UNESCO monument) are assigned to the artist.
2009: His works are exposed at Munich, Germany under the auspices of the Cultural Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
2010: Iconography and mosaics on the dome of Saint Constantine, in Glyfada, Athens (Greece).
2011: Iconography at the Katholikon of the Holy Monastery of the Taxiarchs Michael and Gabriel, at Pilio, Volos (Greece).
2012: Iconography at the Holy Temple of the Dormition of the Mother of God, in Clair Shores, Michigan (USA).
2013: Iconography of the chapel of Santa Barbara in the Holy Monastery of Roussanos, at Meteora, Greece.

Vlasis Tsotsonis

MOSAIC ASSEMBLER - ICONOGRAPHER – PAINTER

Vlasios Tsotsonis was born in 1951. He studied Fine Arts in Athens, Greece where he was taught the art of iconography. He then studied “Mosaic Aesthetics” at Scuola Mosaicisti di Friuli Spilimbergo in Italy.
